A Putia du Cuntastorie
Small house-ethnographic museum, laboratory of Sicilian stuff (in all its forms) especially songs and “cuntu” (folk tales) evoking Rosa Balistreri, music of tradition and more. The founder is Mel Vizzi from Licata known as “Il Cuntastorie Licatese”, who works with musical collaborators, called “La Compagnia del Cuntastorie”.
The basis of art of “cuntastorie” are its “cunti”(traditional stories/folk tales), songs and ballads often illustrated on its typical old-fashioned billboards made of jute canvas. The themes are the most varied all concerning the territory, its stories, as well as the legends, but also a certain actuality treated with wit and irony. “U cuntu di Rosa” (Balistreri) is his best performance.
On request, are offered short typical shows for tourists, students, associations and various enthusiasts (free entry or free offer). Mini-shows can vary from 5 to 30 minutes.
The workshops that take place in the cultural pole, located in the Historical Center of Licata, concern various branches, including, theatre with performances , paintings, creation of typical products, in order to recall its history and beauties.
