Spiaggia del Pisciotto

In the westernmost part of the city of Licata there is the beach of Pisciotto, even if in reality the original name should be “Pisciotta”. The beach among the most beautiful of the city, is about 2 km long and formed by sandy dunes where sometimes you can admire also traces of plants belonging to the Mediterranean scrub.

Characteristic are some artificial beaches called “the pools”, made to repair the “timpa” sandy from the work of erosion of the sea.

The beach of the pool has an important historical past, from the Punic wars up to the second world war there have been numerous battles in fact have been found several historical finds.
The very busy beach offers solutions for all needs, suitable for families with children thanks to degrading seabed, there are bathing establishments that offer many services, you can easily spend a day of sun enjoying the surrounding landscape, you can take a long walk, the blue sea is very clean in fact you can see fishes even in shallow water.

The sunsets are wonderful, seeing the sun reflect in the sea is a show of lights and colors not to be missed.

The beach is connected by bus service from the center of Licata, can be reached from the highway 115 or the provincial road San Michele. Parking is difficult on Sundays in August, even for payment because there aren’t free areas.
